I have a hell of a time getting mine to drop like this... I use gaur gum powder in my water mix, and just regular water in my catch dish...
Mind if I ask what liquids you're using exactly, and what the drop size and drop rate is...
I know from experience that a large drop size (using 2 drops) will produce a 3rd drop because the valve doesn't close fast enough... that's how I'm able to get my triple drop splashes... but still can't get them this good... LOL

Usually distilled water because the maker recommends it, I guess because nothings in it that can cause the water valve to clog up...But I don't think it matters about the water.. Just mainly that & guar gum, but recently Xantham gum because it strains better. [link] The triple ones are usually done with milk but you might get lucky with water..[link]

I think I read somewhere that she (Corrie) doesn't have much luck with drops larger than 80. But I find that with bigger size drops things get pretty wild. 90 to 100 or so..I think with the bigger drops since there coming down faster the interval has to be kind of close together like maybe 15 to 20... you just have to experiment with different sizes and intervals till you get like you want.. I take about 200 to 300 pictures and maybe I get a few that look good..Also it seems to make a difference how high the drop valve is away from the water tray..

Thanks for taking the time to reply... guess I'm just going to have to experiment more... I've got it down pretty well for the collision drops, and the bubble drops... but I need to expand so I can get the mid air collisions and other interesting effects... I've hit a bit of a rut... LOL.
Normally I get my color from bouncing the flash off a colored background... When I have the flashes pointed directly at the water/drop area I do not achieve the colors I feel I should be getting... get's kinda frustrating at times... LOL

Anyhow, thanks for your responses... If anything, seeing your work, and going back to look at Corries stuff again has just made me want to do more... gonna shoot until my camera cracks... or I crack ;) one or the other... HA HA HA!

I think you should only point them directly at drop if your using milk, I think because it's opaque. water don't work so well..:D

Hmmm good point... pointed directly at the water doesn't seem to work, but I'll give it a go with some milk tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the pointer :D
